Welcome to the Wellard Yamaha ISDE 2008 Team's virtual garage.
The success of of our inaugural assault on the International Six Day Enduro in La Serena, Chile, in 2007, has only fuelled excitement for 2008 ISDE to be held in Serres, Greece, on September 1st-6th.
Planning for the competition is already underway, and we are currently selecting our riders to form this year’s team.
Reading the blogs from last year’s riders reinforces what an experience representing Australia in the “Olympics of off-road motorcycle racing” is for the riders.
Matt is now contesting the Australian enduro series as part of the powerful Ballard offroad team with great success, proving just how valuable the opportunity to ride for the Wellard Yamaha ISDE team was.
This year’s selection criteria remains the same: The rider must be young, Western Australian and fast.
The WR250F’s supplied by Yamaha performed superbly in the La Serena terrain in 2007, and I am confident the WR450F's will do the same through the dusty Serres mountains.
This website, now nicknamed our e-garage, has been developed to keep all Wellard’s friends and supporters informed abut the team from the early days of preparation until the chequered flag drops on the final race.
On this site, you will find riders’ bios, news, videos, photo, riders’ comments and race results, as well as information about the race and our Yamaha WR450F motorbikes.
At Wellard we are proud to sponsor the Team and to offer the chance to three young WA sportsmen to showcase their talent in the most important motorcycle Enduro Race in the world.
Wellard is committed to our community and we believe sport provides an excellent avenue to develop personal skills and confidence and to train young boys and girls for the future challenges of life – so please follows us and give these young and brave riders your support through the website.
